Birds from across the world, gathered into a single elegant pattern and printed onto tissue soft enough to fold around anything. It's the finishing touch that turns even the simplest parcel into something considered.
About the design
V&A Birds of Many Climes reproduces a textile design by C.F.A. Voysey (1857–1941), one of the most influential English designers of the Arts and Crafts movement. An architect as well as a designer, Voysey brought the same clarity and craftsmanship to his wallpapers and textiles, which are celebrated for their elegant, stylised patterns of birds, plants and animals.
As its name suggests, this design gathers birds from many parts of the world into one graceful composition. The original is held in the collection of the V&A — the Victoria and Albert Museum in London — and reproduced here from the archive, that same characterful detail brings a piece of the collection to something you can wrap with, line a keepsake box, or simply keep for its own sake.
