The Great Wave Tissue Paper

Regular price £3.50 Sale

One of the most famous images ever made — Hokusai's Great Wave — printed onto tissue soft enough to fold around anything. It's the finishing touch that turns even the simplest parcel into something considered.

About the design

This design features Under the Wave off Kanagawa — better known as The Great Wave — by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849). Created around 1831 as part of his celebrated series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, this woodblock print shows a towering wave curling over fishing boats, with Mount Fuji small and serene in the distance.

It has become one of the most recognisable and reproduced artworks in the world. Reproduced here under licence from The British Museum — home to one of the great collections of Hokusai's prints — that same drama and elegance comes to something you can wrap with, line a keepsake box, or simply keep for its own sake.
