The letter to Father Christmas, done properly. Legami's kit turns what is usually a hurried scribble on the back of an envelope into a small ceremony: three blank letter pages to fill in, a themed envelope to seal them into, a thank-you card for afterwards, and a sheet of stickers to decorate the lot.
The three pages matter more than they sound. One is for the first draft, written in December optimism; one is for the edit, after somebody has explained the budget; and one survives to go in the envelope. The foil and glitter detailing is what makes a child treat it as an occasion rather than homework.
The thank-you card is the part we'd point out, because it's the bit everyone forgets. It sits in the kit until Boxing Day and then gives you something genuinely useful to do with a child who is otherwise entirely absorbed by a new toy.
The paper is FSC® certified (FSC-C154586), from well-managed and other controlled sources — worth knowing if you'd rather the Christmas stationery wasn't a throwaway. Have a look at one at our Canterbury shop, 22 Burgate, or order online for UK delivery.

FAQ
What exactly is in the kit?
Three blank letter pages, a themed envelope, a thank-you card and a sticker sheet.
Are the letters pre-printed or blank?
Blank to fill in, on a decorated page — so the words are the child's, but it doesn't look like lined A4.
Is there a reply from Father Christmas?
No. The kit is for writing and sending; the thank-you card is for the child to send afterwards.
What age is it for?
Anyone who can write, roughly. There's no age rating on the pack, and it works just as well as a dictate-to-a-grown-up exercise for younger children.
Can you actually post it?
The envelope is decorative, so for a real posting you'd want a stamped envelope round it. Royal Mail publish a Santa address each year with a cut-off date, usually early December.
Does it make a good gift?
It's a lovely thing to put in an advent calendar or give at the start of December rather than on the day — it's a thing to do, not a thing to own.
