Four hundred and thirty-two tiny rare-earth magnets, and absolutely no instructions needed. Speks behave like magnetic putty that never makes a mess — squash the whole mass flat in your palm, roll it into a sphere, pull it apart and let it snap back together. It’s the kind of quietly absorbing desk toy that eats ten minutes before you’ve noticed, which is rather the point.
If you’d rather build than fidget, the 2.5 mm balls lock into 2D patterns and 3D structures — cubes, polyhedra, whatever the included guide and your patience allow. Each set comes with a storage case, a metal display base to park your creation on, and a splitter card for separating the balls back out. It’s a proper grown-up fidget: a favourite for anyone who thinks better with their hands busy, and a reliably good desk gift for the person who has everything else.
The Bolds Edition comes in four single-colour sets — Valiant blue, Adventurous green, Sassy pink and Audacious purple — so you can pick a colour that suits the desk, or collect more than one and mix them (the splitter card sorts them back out). These are an adults’ desk toy, strictly 14+. Pop into Wrapped! in Canterbury to pick your colour and have a squish of the display set before you buy.
