Same squish, now with texture.
Gump Surface is the textured edition of Speks' memory gel stress ball. Same velvety TPR shell, same slow maltose gel oozing back into shape after every squeeze — but the outside is no longer smooth. Four moulded patterns give your fingertips something to find: Edge is cut into facets, Burst is scattered with raised nubs, Scale is layered like fish scales, and Quilt is criss-crossed into soft padded squares.
That matters more than it sounds. A smooth ball is satisfying to squeeze; a textured one is satisfying to simply hold. If you're the sort of person whose thumb goes hunting for a seam or a ridge, Surface will keep you busy considerably longer than the Original will. It's quiet, mess-free and about 6cm across, so it lives happily beside a keyboard.
Each texture comes in its own translucent colourway: Sea Glass Edge, Dew Burst, Mist Scale and Moon Jelly Quilt. Come and squeeze all four in our Canterbury shop on Burgate before you commit — texture is almost impossible to judge from a photograph, and people are usually surprised by which one they end up taking home.
Recommended for ages 14+. WARNING: NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS. SMALL PARTS — CHOKING HAZARD.

FAQ
Is this a genuine Speks product?
Yes — Wrapped! is an official stockist.
What age is it suitable for?
We recommend it for ages 14 and up. It's a stress-relief tool rather than a toy, and the packaging carries a warning that it isn't suitable for children under 3 due to small parts.
How is Surface different from the standard Gump?
Same gel, same size, same soft shell. The difference is entirely on the outside: the Original is smooth, while Surface is moulded into one of four textures. If you already own a Gump and want something that feels genuinely different rather than just another colour, this is it.
Which texture should I choose?
Edge is faceted and the most defined under the thumb. Burst has raised nubs dotted across it. Scale is the subtlest, layered in overlapping rows. Quilt is soft padded squares and the most pillowy of the four.
How big is it?
Roughly 6cm across, about the size of a satsuma — the same as the Original Gump.
What's inside it?
A soft maltose memory gel, fully sealed inside a flexible TPR shell. It won't leak in normal use.
Can I wash it?
Don't submerge it long-term, but if the surface gets sticky with use: wash with soap and water, let it dry completely, then dust lightly with cornflour to restore the velvety feel.
Which one will I get?
The texture you choose — each is sold individually, not assorted.
Is it a good gift?
One of our best stocking fillers and desk gifts: inexpensive, widely liked, and genuinely useful for anyone who works at a screen.
Safety
Recommended for ages 14+.
WARNING: NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS. SMALL PARTS — CHOKING HAZARD.
- This is a stress-relief and sensory tool rather than a children's toy. We recommend it for ages 14 and over; younger users should be supervised by an adult.
- Not for anyone who may bite, chew or suck it. The gel contents are not for ingestion.
- Check it before each use. If the outer shell leaks, splits or ruptures, stop using it and dispose of it immediately.
- Avoid very aggressive stretching, and keep away from sharp objects, pet teeth and direct heat.
- Squishy gel toys don't last forever — lifespan depends on how hard it's used.
- Keep packaging away from children.
