A cockatoo perched among ripe pomegranates, drawn from a Victorian wallpaper and printed onto tissue soft enough to fold around anything. It's the finishing touch that turns even the simplest parcel into something considered.

About the design

V&A Cockatoo and Pomegranate reproduces a wallpaper design by Walter Crane (1845–1915), one of the most influential English artists of his day and a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. As celebrated for his children's book illustrations as for his decorative work, Crane brought the same richness and craftsmanship to wallpaper and textiles.

He created this Cockatoo and Pomegranate design in 1899, and the original is held in the collection of the V&A — the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Reproduced here from the archive, that same intricate, storybook detail brings a piece of the collection to something you can wrap with, line a keepsake box, or simply keep for its own sake.
